A network of engagement is...
Personal: Individual members of a community of interest and practice state what they desire to do both in the 'real' world and in the world online. OpenKollab calls these statements intentions and interests and has established some guidelines of personal behavior that is conducive to collaboration. These are things like openess, mutual respect, commitment, competence, willingness and other intangible assets.
Technical: People with widely variable levels of technical expertise should be able to communicate and collaborate effectively on both individual and collective efforts. The OpenKollab platform is being designed and built to accomodate real people doing real work regardless of what hardware and software they are using from cellphone to networked server. OK consists of components, nodes, objects, interfaces, processes, and many other technical parts to create a transparent collaborative open space.
Adaptive: Together, the community with a well-designed software platform are able to accept new members individually or as groups - whole or formative. Our target niche is to help small groups and individuals to find each other and discover interpersonal synergies, channel the confluence of ideas, resolve salient differences and expose hidden commonalities. Our philosophy is to build OpenKollab concurrently as both people and processes engaged with a quickly-changing world.
